Matt Albiani is a New York based photographer best known for the lush and approachable sense of his surroundings. He has shot shot campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Victoria's Secret, Nautica, J.Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, Lilly Pulitzer, French Connection, and Target. Editorials include ELLE, MR.PORTER, GQ, MARIE CLAIRE, ESQUIRE, ALLURE, INTERVIEW, and VANITY FAIR. He has photographed celebrities Scarlett Johanssen, Josh Lucas, Anne Hathaway,Matt Dillon, and most recently Vincent Cassel.
Albiani is New England born and bred, and takes those east coast sensibilities with him on his travels, and in his work with his photographs. A fine example of this is in his first book of photographs, entitled LIFEGUARD ON DUTY, to be released by Antinous Press in June 2009. Here, Albiani traveled for years across the U.S., and photographed ocean guards in their own environment. With an intense simplicity, a pure eye, and, as a former lifeguard himself, a soulful connection to these brave men, he has created a beautiful and unique portrait to the life of a guard.
